Top Ten Things on Thy Thoughts This Thursday

10. Zombie Apocalypse is good for bonding

Have you played LEFT 4 DEAD? It’s the biggest hit of the videogame maker VALVE (Half-Life and Counterstrike)

Most of you know this but its game where you kinda participate in a four man team in one of four scenarios, which is like a movie. Its simple really: from point A go to point B. You just have to shoot through a seemingly endless barrage of zombies. Take note that these Zombies run like the ones in the movies 28 days and somewhere along the horde you have a variety of enhanced monsters that stalks your team through the stage.

Its so F***ing cool when you got 4 of your closest buddies travelling in the most eeriest places on earth with no sign of life during night time. Helping out each other on a quest for survival. Its so unlike other games where you just be the star player or high scorer. This game is all about team work, communication, coordination, sharing, caring…

Thank you for the Zombie the ones were shooting

9. Pacquiao should have lost…

Before you react. Read further

Yes I said it pacquiao should have lost the fight. Why? Because it will mean more money for him in a rematch with Hatton. Manny needs a new nemesis he already beaten Barera and Morales. He needs a new arch-villain in the ring.

But more importantly a rematch woulod definitely keep Manny busy enough not to go to politics. Ho doesn’t need to be a politician. If he really wants to helps he should make a foundation, give scholarships, do fundraisers, do charity not involving the press. I do not now much about banking but by using his interest money (that’s 1% of his total winnings) he could help a lot of our countrymen. 1% of his winnigs is more than enough. Hell! Why not give he gives his Mcdonald’s outlet’s profit to charity that would be great right?

To quote from Forrest Gump:

Momma said there's only so much fortune a man really needs and the rest is just for showing off.

This just came in…

My store’s door wont lock, not that the locking mechanisms is broken but I could not get the two sliding doors to meet each other and lock it. Last night I stayed up in the store until dawn to watch over the repairs being done as per company standard. It should have been fixed… Now I have to stay until the Opening Manager comes in…

8. I like listening to stand-up comedians they make a lot of sense in the world… Im Paraphrasing it

Kat Williams said in his “Its Pimpin Pimpin” DVD that we should have focused on our

Star Player, the one we see in the mirror everyday. We always go out and please other people but how about your Star Player. Problem is you are not selfish enough and forgot about your Star Player. You should go and talk to your Star Player and say, “How are you doing today?”

(On friends)

You should have 4-5 friends that got your back and block the BS in this world. Whenever BS comes your friends should be there throw themselves in front you and block BS off.

(On relationships)

Some of you Star Players have a franchise player but you always have your Franchise Players on the bench. You forgot your Franchise Players because you are to busy on who’s trading who, who coming from the draft…

7. I’m depressed… My salary got deducted… Got no money saved because I bring in my share for the bills

And tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of my girlfriend.

This really sucks.

6. Do you know the DC superhero Green Lantern? Well apparently there are other  “Lanterns” that existed in space (The Green Lanterns are like an Intergalactic Police that gets their powers for being Courageous)

Each Lantern is symbolized by a color which corresponds to a specific emotion

Green - Courage

Yellow – Fear

Red – Rage, Anger

Blue – Hope

Indigo – Compassion

Violet – Love

Black --- Death

5. On Windows XP

I read it on Wikipedia.com that WinXP stop selling to give to Vista and Windows 8. But support for the XP is until 2010, then they announced it that due to the number of UMPC and netbooks using XP they extended it to 2014

I’m using Windows 2000. Its 2009. I still got programs that support Win2000 and it seems it can go further. How long after 2014 would XP really be obsolete like Windows 98 and Windows ME?

4. Anime and Escapism

Although anime seems harmless to the viewer I think too much of it is alarming. On my opinion some types of Anime offers escapism to people who are having trouble with their lives. An example would be Harem

Harem is the type of Manga or Anime where the protagonist is the sole male character in the story or a male character surrounded by women of different kinds. The viewer could his favorite or crush from the cast of women in the story. Sometimes the male is the crush or would be the crush of all the female characters in the development of the story. It is easy to picture yourself as the Main Character of the story. Most of the time the male character is a weak, unimpressive, passive, shy, pushover, bad luck magnet, always gets to be beat up, and has trouble with girls. But at the same the male character is Chivalric and Sagacious, kind-hearted, man with principles, never give up, ever-loving under-dog. On the list given above you would probably picture yourself as the Main Character already.

With great fortune and luck the Main Character becomes the hero, a knight in shining armor if the occasion calls for it and in the end impresses the female cast. Sometime thru the course of the story he beginning to wisen up and becomes a man.

Who would not want to be the Man in this type of anime. Right? It is so ROMANTIC right? It is too ROMANTIC. Its unbelievable! C’mon a guy surrounded by girls that are cute, voluptuous, in Japanese high school uniforms, who has the hots for you and sometimes with alien superpowers, killer ancient pass to generation to generation martial arts who wields a big-ass bastard sword and drives a robot from Outer Space from another dimension.

I’ll make another blog regarding more on the topic but I hope you get the picture.

3. Question..

Do you have an On-line Degree?

Did it help you get a job?

Did it actually help you become a better professional?

2. What if one day all of the coffee shops have the same prices of coffees, cakes, frozen beverages and other items commonly found in a typical coffee shop.

Where would you go and why?

1. Again, using the #2 scenario above. Would you go FIGARO (or your country’s own coffeeshop) and buy your coffee and cakes in that place knowing all other coffee shops have the prices for their products? Would you pay their prices despite that most of their supplies came from your country, that the owner doesnt need to pay license fee for running their international brand in your country, basically would you pay an "international price" for a "local home grown concept"?

Top Ten Things on the Thy Thoughts

Note: I pressed something on my keyboard which I believe the "TAB" button which navigated my browser to another page in tabulas which in effect erased my draft.

In other words...

Argh...

After a long time I finally dugged uo this old blog account. It's been crazy lately that I need a release in my life. I gotta connect Man, Aside from this blog I have no web social life or web presence. I used t o have a friendster account but I had to let it go for personal reasons. Its hard these days to stay Human and to reach out, hopefully thru this I could help other bloggers, maybe a thumbs up, pat in the back, be your Rob Schneider shouting "You can do it" or I'll be the kitten in the "Hang in There Poster." A slim 6'foot tall male filipino kitten... Ouch the imagery... (Kitty wants some candy)

10. Im on a old Sony Viao PIII with 128mb ram and 12gb. Its still pretty good for simple operations like word processing, movies, old games (archaic even), net. Oh and its on the Win2k

9. I dont buy products that I dont it'll will benefit me or other people, I dont vote ... (why? is the lesser evil the right choice?)

8. Go To Detroit Metal City! (manga)

Detroit Metal City is about a death metal band that has gained immense popularity in the indie scene. The main character is a push-over, Negichi Souchi, who is trying to make a living in the music world, but he didn't imagine in his wildest dreams that it would be in such a band. Read and see what hilarious situations he gets himself into.

7. Pirated or Original License Software... Why not OPEN SOURCE? its free! (example firefox, openoffice etc). Check portableapps.com

6. Im a barista and I dont like it when we serve your coffee to your table specially when we clearly told you to wait for your drink at the pick-up counter. You pay us to make your coffee not to bring it to your table. Dont push it

5. Support your local standup comedians (Rex Navarete, Tim Tayag, Allan Manalo). Its very hard to come with new material or jokes. I'll post some ads in the future if they have some gigs. Trust me they're great

4. I love my girlfriend, we dont have a lot of things in common. We sometimes have different views and opinions on things. But she complements me

3. I'm ignorant... How do you help a country during a financial crisis

2. I know you would hate me for this but...

They are two types of people who have the right to buy a photographer's camera; Professionals and Parents. if you're really into Photography as a hobby and you appreciate other people's shoots and have sufficient know how on taking pictures, sure. But you dont need a 20megapixel with sup-up lens hanging in your neck  for "Picture Picture" or on something you deemed "cool"

1. Whats so funny about peace, love and understanding...  Nick Lowe

With much love and appreciation

Night before the Last Day

Just got off from work which was a tiring 12-10 sked. Tomorrow would be the last day working in the restaurant and i could'nt bring myself to work my usual flow and tempo. My movements are slow, my actions were substandard and I could barely smile properly and sincerely. I'll be submitting my requirements for clearance tomorrow and I'll be going to the main office to submitted the clearance itself to the HR.

I'm still bitter about their decisions to let me go, I'm bleeding myself to stay professional and to show some class. Learn some tricks and lessons though about the industry I'm in and I think I could better on my next job. Again I'm financially frustrated since the pay in the training period in a new job in a restaurant is small.

I could apply a job abroad but I don't think I'm ready. I need to survive the Restaurant Industry here in the Philippines first before going out of the country.

I'm lucky that I've have a degree in HRM and it'll open oppurtunities and doors for in the future. I just need to get in the zone and focus.

Determination, Sacrifice, Patience

Bitter but wiser

Just learned from my managers that I wont be stayin long in my work. Just two weeks short 3 months of working in their restaurant.

They stated their reasons which just shot off from one ear to other. I just cant believe it was all to sudden for me. I did gave my best and was doing alright.

Then a friend/coworker told the real reason was because i was defensive everytime one of my managers corrects me whe n im do something wrong.

This is so untrue. Im not defensive i was just stating my side or explaning why i did as such but i  admit my wrong and tell the m i'd do better next time and i hear and receive what they are telling me.

Now i dont know what really is the reason. Of course most of my friends tell me that "its ok" "maybe this restaurant is not for you" "bata ka pa naman eh"

My early end of my contract will be on sept 15, saturday, I could look for work before the weekend. Oh well move on na lang tayo

Masaya! Grabe enjoy to the max. Well syempre depende sa iyo yan, sa attitude mo sa practicum mo.

If your gonna take ojt seriously not just a subject but also an exposure to the "real world" of our industry.

Hindi siya mahirap kung nage-enjoy ka, pagod yes mahirap nope.Ü

Well assigned ako sa Sales Department ng Crowne Plaza/Holiday Inn (sister company sila)

Duties ko dun ay:
answer calls and take messages
paper routing for different departments
photocopy/fax
add or edit accounts sa OPERA (parang siayng fidelio)
other clerical work. Ü

Pero may pagka-"tourism" ginagawa namin dun pero ok lang kasi ang dami namin natutunan.

Come to think of it kung ok para sa iyo magpracticum kasi di ba BS Tourism ka na.

PS. Ginamit ko itong reply as a journal entry na rin sa blog ko kc pagod na me mag-isip ng masusulat.Ü

I hate my life

I hate my life…

Just had a debate with my parents on whether I should enroll Physics this summer. My Dad is having a cataract extraction on his left eye, which is very costly for us since income for my parents is somewhat seasonal since they are in the entertainment industry. That means adding a laboratory subject which is cost higher than of the regular lecture subject will be expensive.

This makes my schedule for this summer ridiculous. I have a Filipino 2 subject at 7:00 to 9:00 in the morning and a newly added Physics (lecture 1:00 – 3:45 laboratory 4:00 – 6:00). Again with the stupid schedules how long should I suffer and waste time in this freakishly made schedules. I have 4-hour break in-between those subjects what the fuck will I do with 4 hours I probably die of boredom just for waiting for that damn subject.

At first my mother was kind of hesitant to allow me to enroll on the subject. You see I have a history for being a bad student since for life. I made a promise that I’ll pass Physics and if not she will punish me. She asked what kind of punishment I’ll receive a mark of 5 I said “ikaw bahala.”
